-Wealthy: rich.
-Marbles: mottled stone.
-Unaware: not knowing.
-Beneath: under
-Dawn: early morning.
-Fade: become less vivid.
-Cobblestone: paving stone.
-Curtain: drapery for a window.
-Rushed: done too fast.
-Breathlessly: gasping for breath.
-Squealing: pig noise,
-Level-headed: Reasonable.
-Struggle: attempt to get free.
-Gaze: Stare.
-Startling; alarming.
-Fluttered: flap.
-Witnesses: observer.
-Plump: rounded,
-Neatly: tidily.
-Trimmed: cut.
-Uneasy: unconfortable.
-Wardrobes: furniture.
-Despite: in spite of.
-Velvet: a fabric  of silk, nylon... with a thick, soft pile formed of loops either cut at the end or left uncut.
-Threatened: being under threat.
-Snorted: to express contemp of annoyance by such an exhalation.
